Bluebells

Bluebells have many different subtypes ranging from the Spanish bluebell to the Scottish bluebell. The different variations of this flower make this beautiful flower, all the more beautiful because of the variety. In the United Kingdom, bluebells are protected by law, and homeowners in their surrounding area are not allowed to disturb them.

The selling of bluebells could incur fines up to five thousand pounds per bulb. The bluebells themselves possess some chemical that keep bugs and other small animals away from them. For this reason scientist have studied bluebells to see if it is possible to manufacture more pesticides to be used on other plants and yet safe for humans and other animals to be around.
